About the NH Boater Education Law The US Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a number of Public Education courses in the Seacoast New Hampshire and Maine region. Most coastal states, including New Hampshire, now require boater safety education before operating a boat in state waters. Auxiliary boating safety courses are approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, and the certificate you receive is valid in all states which require boater education, including NH. Many insurance companies offer discounts on boat insurance to individuals who successfully complete this course. Education helps you get the most enjoyment out of your investment in a boat. All classes require advance enrollment. Early registration is recommended as some classes fill fast, while others may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Contact the Flotilla 02-08 Public Education Officer via E-mail for more information. Auxiliary Members also participate in a wide
array of free training and education opportunities, both in the
classroom and on the water.
